Since the 840-G2 doesn't have a DVD drive I'm trying to force a USB DVD drive to boot a backup/restore dvd external drive to be the first device in the boot sequence. The 840-G2 doesn't recognise this device. If I use F9 to select boot devices it only shows the hard drive and the ethernet drive. I have tried to force the USB DVD device to be the first one, but the HP Elite 840-G2 won't start with it. Any help on how to get a USB DVD drive to be first in the startup sequence.
You don’t need to make the USB DVD drive bootable. First make a bootable USB flash drive. Make sure you format it to fat32. Then copy all the files from the CD or DVD to the flash drive and boot from it.
