i use flashrom_ch341a.. the china soft doesnt always read past 16MB depending on version. i also use flashrom layouts to only flash specific area not whole chip if its OTP (one time programmable)
As far as I understand this will open up the management programming mode, right? Furthermore it wont screw up the GbE region as you are just replacing the bios region? My problem is: I have replaced the motherboard of my ZBook, set the DMI infos BUT forget to set Intel AMT and locked the MPM. Therefor it is showing "not in committed state"...at least thats what people say. So the solution will be replacing the BIOS region with a stock one from an HP bios update?
I have tried Easy Clean but the unit becomes very, very slow to boot and the error persists. Takes about 90s vs 10s before. Will give the ME region from the other dump a try in the evening.
probably needs HP ME upgrade specific or from a bin with hexeditor.. address 3000 and full size select block. in uefi tool me size.
Im a step further: I replaced the BIOS REGION with one from stock HP update which results in a MPM unlock - BUT on first boot I receive the message that "EC mismatch with configuration - going to restore system information"... any ideas?
Still developing this although at a slower pace. I can say using region maps increases speed quite a bit. I have gzipped the binarys to save space. Also, I have moved to a ramdisk type setup where I copy the binarys into ram, make all the edits needed there and then flash from there. The speed increase is amazing!
I cant speak to reader equipment you are using because I haven't used it myself.. On the topic of 8pin/16pin SOIC clips, I have tried quite a few different brands. I have had trouble with each and every one....except one. This one just plain works. The CPT-063 SOIC8 Pomona 5250. Costs a little more than others (~15$)...but it always works for me. I use this in a production type environment where I can see upwards of 50 laptops a week, So it get's used heavily. Contacts are heavier gauge than others and hold up to the abuse too. Try the Pi, its documented here pretty well, with pinout details, or I know Latin uses another setup with great success..He might be able to give other guidance. -Cheers
Hi all, I posted this in the other page, and then discovered this one. Is it even possible without a Pi? Many Thanks
