i dont think you have a hardware bios programmer... im talking about flashing chip via programmer.. not some software in laptop
yes you can use it blank. .but have to use hp bios config tool to reinsert all infos missing.. easier to edit a working .bin with your intel ME region
Hello! I have an HP Folio 9470m. The problem is that during boot it says : "Warning Machine is not in committed state" , i've tried everything but nothing works. It is like you can read the BIOS but you can't change nothing in it. (MPM is lock). What can i do? thank you very much for your help!
@gabry121: I have a very similar problem with an HP ZBook 17 G2. I've just ordered the CH341A USB programmer and the other bits and pieces I will need to fix this and I am expecting everything to be here in about a week or so. My plan is to unlock the MPM (Manufacturer Programming Mode) by using the CH341A, flashrom software for the CH341A, and Pomona 5252 clips on the Winbond (W)25Q16DV(S)SIQ flash chip from an almost identical machine that is working properly to make a backup of the BIOS. Use HxD to change the $VSS2 store UUID data in the working backup to FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Make a backup of the problem laptop BIOS (just in case). Write the edited UUID BIOS file to the problem laptop. Use a USB flash drive with the FSMC.BIN file that comes with nbdmifit/wndmifit to unlock MPM. Correct the MPM data for the problem laptop using wndmifit and verify that it all works as expected. Then finally commit and re-lock the MPM. Several of the steps I mention are untried by me, so I may run into some issues. I am particularly concerned that there is a different flash chip on the problem laptop - a cfeon EN25Q64-104HIP - and this may cause some trouble. It looks like the flash chip was replaced at some point in the past since the solder pads are a bit sloppy. It certainly wasn't wave soldered. I'm also not sure if I will run into an EC chip with a backup copy of the BIOS? Did this laptop have one? If it does, will it block me at some stage in the steps I'm planning? I'll report back what I learn from this exercise for the benefit of others. @Mazzif, @LatinMcG, or anyone else: Please offer advice or make suggestions if you think I should go about this another way.

most of times it fails to read chip on the board due to power consumption of board.. best take chip off. make backup.bin and then it can be fixed in bin.. your way is the long hard way. send me backup.bin to remove pwd only.
@LatinMcG: Thanks for the recommendation. As you said, the flash chip wasn't seen by the flashrom software with the chip soldered to the motherboard, but I had to at least try it. My next attempt at reading the chip will need to wait until I get a hot air soldering station. I've been wanting one for years so this will be my excuse to get one. I haven't given up, but it will be a while before I can get the flash chip desoldered. I'll post again when I have more to report.
use asprogrammer or latest 1.33 or higher version china soft.. likely wont read properly on the board as it sucks power from programmer. make 2 or 3 copies.. compare in hexeditor 2 files with Ctrl K / or verify in software programmer. openin uefitool and find the VSS and find someones dump without pwd and can be copied in hexeditor.
I try to read my chip for many Times no error appear dan success 16mb file. But when I open it in hex editor the file is error. And I try to verify in software programer always show this error code "chip main memory with the contents are in disagreement" Please Help!
