Hi all, I am new to this forum and please re-direct me if I am posting in the wrong place..... RE:my HP G62a18SA AMD Athlon II Laptop - new motherboard fitted I recently had motherboard replaced after liquid accident - apparently the new system board needs to be associated with my original machine or 'tattooed' so that my restore discs will work when resetting it. HP are acting odd saying this could not be done and suggested I buy another Win 7 op system from the repairer??? and the repair firm said HP had to do this procedure. I am aware that there are BIOS tools that can fix this but I don't know how to get them and after spending £175 for a new board I am reluctant to spend anymore cash. Laptop working fine but the startup message that stops the boot up is starting to piss me off and want it back the way it was....Help Peter
