About four years ago, I bought my daughter an Acer Aspire 7720 (with InsydeH2O bios) that she used without problems for almost two years. She started having issues with it and called Acer tech support who advised her to flash the bios with the latest revision, to resolve her issue. After going through the proper procedures to flash the bios, the laptop has been useless to her. When she tries to boot the laptop, it asks for the input of a bios password as soon as the Acer splash screen would disappear. A bios password had never been set for the laptop, so she couldn't boot to the OS. She contacted Acer tech support again because of the issue caused by the bios flash Acer tech support had instructed her to do. Acer basically told her the only resolution was for her to send the laptop in to Acer so they could replace the motherboard (at a cost of $150.00). She has not been able to use the laptop since that time. InsydH2O was new enough that I could find no resolution to the problem. I downloaded a password reset script, but it requires the input of a boot error code (that displays after three failed password entry attempts), but for some reason, the laptop is not displaying the error code when it should. Would using your instructions to try recovering the bios, or re-flashing the bios get rid of the bios password request, or is there any other way you know of that might correct whatever is going on, so the laptop can be used again (without sending it to Acer)?? Thanks in advance!
open bottom cover.. find cmos round battery. now with NO POWER OR BATTERY .. short the terminals of battery while u press power button for about 30 seconds or so. next alternative is to find the circuit diagram aka schematic of the area near battery... i saw a youtube vid of similar model needing short on 2 other spots sequentially. try 03658.bin or 3658.bin in Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current also in Previous try older bios
oki i repair all , i could not make with nbmifit but i could with programer , the ofset is 2000h here you have informacion about the notebook ! bye !
HP G62t-350 CTO bios recovery Currently using sp52604.exe bios from hp website sp62541.exe UEFI Support Environment sp52093.exe System Diagnostics UEFI Already tried extracting the bios and renaming the .fd file to the Rev # under battery (1426.bin and 1426.sig) and many other combinations of file names/extensions It is not encrypted since phoenixtools doesnt give me anything except for .BIOS files, SLIC, and DUMP folder Tried resetting CMOS battery twice for multiple hours and reseating memory modules, removing hdd while flashing etc. Caps lock blinks twice, orange wifi LED & black screen everytime. Even tried 2 different usb drives (Toshiba 1GB and Sandisk Cruzer 4GB) formatted to FAT32/FAT Can anybody help ?
try 01425.bin or 1425.bin or 01426.bin or 1426.bin u tried already. try older version what folder did u put in ?? Hewlett-Packlard\BIOS\Previous also in Current or was it on root ?
I tried those names placed in Previous and Current folders but no success. I also tried older version of bios (sp50938.exe) which also failed. However if I place the .bin files in root of USB (no UEFI Support Environment or UEFI System Diag folders) the laptop will beep continuously for ~45 seconds and the light on my flash drive will blink repeatedly but eventually shut down. This only happens if all files are placed on root. When using Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Previous and Current the laptop beeps once until I see the caps lock LED blink twice again and continues to run with black screen/orange wifi LED/quiet fan
so it works on root.. the propblem is the lcd or the motherboard chipset.. not the bios try external monitor
Ok so I connected my notebook to my TV through HDMI and attempted to flash with bios files on root of flash drive. The same thing happens : continuous beeps and usb drive LED blinks for ~45 sec then laptop shuts down. I tried switching displays with FN+F4 but nothing happens. The last thing I did on the notebook was reformatting the HDD through HP Support Assisstant when all of a sudden the screen went black and next thing you know I have a laptop with a corrupted BIOS.
