Help, please! I write with the help of Google translator. I have g6-2322er laptop. Comes with windows 8. Flashes twice CAPS Lock. EFI-section has been removed. Who has the same laptop? Share files from the first EFI-partition (it is hidden), please! I need files from the folder EFI\HP\BIOS\Current\ Many thanks!

Almighty LatinMcG! Maybe you have, there are in store?

My board id: 184A-120. I tried the files that you put on mediafire. With them I have was the greatest progress. Anyway I have blinking screen when trying to execute windows + b with these files on a flash drive. With other files - generally no manifestations of life.

HP Pavilion G6-2249WM. BIOS is bricked. Endless loop of trying to update the bios on it's own and results in failure each time.

Apparently this model doesn't work with the flashtool to make the sig files?? It just errors out when I try to pick a .bin file.

I made the HP Vision Diagnostics Offline Edition (USB Flash Disk Only) and got the latest bios file for this model (sp60936.exe).

There are only 2 bin files in the extracted sp60936.exe file (0188DF26.BIN and 01847F26.bin). I put both on the USB drive in EFI\HP\BIOS\Current

I hold winkey+b and try booting but never get beyond a blank screen with 2 blinks on caps lock. Hard drive and cdrom are removed. What am I doing wrong??

you were missing the .sig .. phoenixtool to .DECrypt it. then rename to .bin instead of .DEC

Thank you to both At0607 and Kallisti5. Especially At0607.

I bricked my girlfriend's DV6-6136TX after flashing a new BIOS from Camiloml. I needed to add a 7260 Wi-Fi card. It worked perfectly at first. Then after installing some programs and running Windows update (it was a freshly installed Win7 run), it stopped turning on. The Wi-Fi LED and Caps Lock LED indicated a BIOS corruption.

I did what At0607 said, but instead of ANDY tool I used PhoenixTool. I downloaded the official SP55068.exe from HP, extracted it with WinRAR and then ran PhoenixTool on the 01658.bin file. I added all of the HP things given above to a freshly formatted flashdrive (1 or 2gb, I think) with the HP_TOOLS name. I took the 2 files given out by PhoenixTool and then renamed them to 01658.bin and 01658.sig and then copied the pair into all of the Current, New and Previous folders. Then I ejected, plugged the flash drive into a left USB port on the HP DV6-6136TX, plugged in the AC cable (the battery is still removed), held Win+B and then turned it on. I don't know if this next step is important, but right after the flash drive lit up, I released the Win+B keys. My system didn't beep at all. The flash drive just keeps flashing until the BIOS recovery program starts.

Just for good measure, the second the computer started again, I downloaded a clean sp55068.exe BIOS installer from HP and installed the default BIOS. A bit bummed, since I had to take out the better adapter (that WAS working). I hate HP.

So once again, thank you very much to At0607 and Kallisti5. I was close to throwing up until you saved me. I just joined this forum specifically to thank you for saving me.

Ok. I have followed all process. But my own extraction does not give a .FD file but gives a .DEC.bin file . I converted this to a .BIn file and copied to a bootable flash drive. the system comes up but only just displays a single cursor that blinks on a black page and goes off after like 3 seconds. It continues this loop until i manually shut down.

I use an hp dm1-4020sa. i have download all the required files i just dont know why the bios is not updating .
