Hello, I bricked my HP Dv6 3351SF I flash a modded bios and I change option in gpu section (somthing like igpu or something else) and now computer screen stay black I tried to connect extrernal monitor (hdmi and vga) it's don't work The latest bios is sp55299 and under battery is 163c-120, so i try to put 0163.bin in Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current Nothing work, please help me !!
you need to do it right. like first post says decrypt the file with phoenixmod tool. RSA.SIG rename it to proper 0163c.sig and the .bin sometimes its not 0163c the mobo is looking for and last 2 might need slightly different. also make the usb the EFI diagnostic so it can see the file properly and if it fails to see it.. try take power out and drain it by pressing power 30 secs and retry different usb port or usb flash brand.
Thank's but it's don't work, I try 4 different usb (Corsair 8gb; Transcend 2gb and 4gb, kingston 8gb) and I try all usb port on the netbook, I put 0163c.bin and 0163c.sig like say in first post, all usb I try flashes for 5/10s and stop for 10s then again and again ... Sometimes caps lock stay white why ? I already try to change RAM emplacement. Please help me ! if you happen to help me I give you a donation by paypal

Good evening, I managed to brick my HP, after a bios flash. Before the bios flash the computer was working ok. I tried to flash sp55496 (F.06 Rev.A), and after the reboot the computer wont start. Before i had sp56053 (F.08 Rev.A). I tried the fix that was on first page of this thread but with no luck. I have used phoenixtool273. I tried with filenames 01793.bin, 01793.sig, 01794.bin, 01794.sig, from different versions of bios (F.06, F.08, F.0A, F.0C). I have used sp63599.exe to create the usb HP_Tools. Computer blinks power button and wifi button, even only when i connect the power cable. The thing is that i dont need to press the power button. Only when i connect the power cable it starts blinking. I have removed hdd, dvd, swapped rams, shorted battery pins, again with no luck. So, i need some help. HP Pavilion DM4-3000en Rev: 1794-100 Thanks in advance for your reply.
I have a new HP-15-BS576TX with firmware F.22 bricked after a BIOS-UEFI update to F.24 provided by HP. The laptop went totally dead when power is switched ON. Black Screen/No Display and only activity is hardware led occasionally glowing as well as power LED. Every trick failed including Win+B/D key combos and extracted files on usb drive. HP replaced the motherboard since it is under warranty. Although, I am not going to try updating this laptop, I am curious if we can more reliably update Insyde BIOS using FreeDOS USB rather than in Windows 10? We can make a FreeDos bootable usb using syslinux or some other options (Win PE?). Is there any how-to or details available? With the the extracted files of the BIOS-UEFI sp80452.exe shows a Insydeflash.exe, which is clearly, a DOS executable. Here are the contents of the self extracting exe archive: Code: :~$ file *.* 08328.bin: data 0832D.bin: data CrisisKeyDLL.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FlsHookDll.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FlsHook.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FWUpdLcl.exe: PE32 executable (console) Intel 80386, for MS Windows InsydeFlash.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflash.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflash.sys: PE32 executable (native) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflashx64.sys: PE32+ executable (native) x86-64, for MS Windows platform.ini: ASCII text, with CRLF line terminators :~/Insydeflash/CrisisFolder $ CryptRSA32.efi: MS-DOS executable CryptRSA.efi: MS-DOS executable HpBiosMgmt.efi: MS-DOS executable HpBiosMgmt.s09: data HpBiosMgmt.s12: data HpBiosMgmt.s14: data HpBiosUpdate.efi: MS-DOS executable HpBiosUpdate.s09: data HpBiosUpdate.s12: data HpBiosUpdate.s14: data Also, the motherboard of the laptop is 832B with a revision number 23.40 (many have 23.25,23.27 etc motherboard revisions) and if, the installer will identify the board and flash the necessary update, as there ar 08328.bin and 0832D.bin listed. Also wondering, if the motherboard revision will have any impact. Another doubt is, if suppose you have firmware F.22 on a laptop and the latest is F.35, will there a need to flash the intermediate BIOS-UEFI updates (in this case it is F.24) in succession?
@apologist FYI, this is a known issue with this series of laptops. Apparently the one with AMD video cards are affected, as the publicly available bios image supposedly only applicable for mobos with integrated Intel video card only. This is from my personal experiences, and after a long analysis with HP support stuffs and engineers. The standard way of bare metal bios install/recovery (even without any OS such as FreeDOS) as discussed in this thread is the best way.
Thank you for the confirmations @Tito. This model (15-BS576TX) has a dedicated AMD 520 GPU too. And your words are true; Because, I have another laptop which is almost similar to the problem laptop (BS576tx), from the BS00x series (HP 15-BS539TU with 832A motherboard) which has Intel integrated graphics only. As you said, BIOS updating went smooth with the BS539TU. And, I extracted the latest BIOS fix from HP called F.35 just now. The difference is clear. The earlier F.24 firmware was missing firmware (08328B.bin) for the BS00X series laptop with AMD dedicated card (832B motherboard). That may be why the AMD gfx card models got bricked. There is no reply from HP, except an immediate update of BIOS to F.35. F.35 contents: Code: :~$ file * 08328A.bin: data 08328B.bin: data 0832D.bin: data 0832E.bin: data 08445.bin: data CrisisFolder: directory CrisisKeyDLL.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows CryptRSA32.efi: MS-DOS executable CryptRSA.efi: MS-DOS executable FlsHookDll.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FlsHook.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FormatFat.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows FWUpdLcl.exe: PE32 executable (console) Intel 80386, for MS Windows HpBiosMgmt.efi: MS-DOS executable HpBiosMgmt.s09: data HpBiosMgmt.s12: data HpBiosMgmt.s14: data HpBiosUpdate.efi: MS-DOS executable HpBiosUpdate.s09: data HpBiosUpdate.s12: data HpBiosUpdate.s14: data Insydeflash.exe: MS-DOS executable, COFF for MS-DOS, DJGPP go32 DOS extender InsydeFlash.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflash.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflash.sys: PE32 executable (native) Intel 80386, for MS Windows iscflashx64.sys: PE32+ executable (native) x86-64, for MS Windows platform.ini: ASCII text, with CRLF line terminator While, as above F.24 has only 0832.bin and 0832D.bin firmware only. The contents of CrisisFolder is moved to the main folder (root) for F.35. So, my assumptions (may not be true) are the UEFI update for F.24 fails because of the executable missing files which are expected in the root (main) folder?
Hi, someone can help me ? HP Envy 4-1204TX Ultrabook problem blank screen + blinking caps lock button after reflash bios. Can recover bios using usb?
Is there BIOS-MOD for HP 500-405nsm HP 2AF7 to be able to for example overclock the processor and the GPU? I need to know and if it exists, the steps to know how to install it. Thank you.
Thank you very much! I got my HP mini 210-2202sa bricked due to a failed BIOS upgrade. I spent a lot of time on the HP official support page with nothing good coming out of my search. However, I got the simple solution from your post. I marked the trick that did it for me in red for others who may be facing same problem. I am grateful to you for putting this meaningful information out. Thank you again!
