Ok i burned the iso and added the files where exactly do you type the command to restore the image?

I went to dos and typed it in nothing happened.

I did a cd to c: no luck. Can you please help me out i am stuck i have tried everything in the book to no avail. doing this before i go the vmware route.

I typed snapshot restore HD1 auto C:\HPMSS-EX47x.SNA
it says does not exist.

But i verified that the sna image is indeed located in the disc.

Nevermind figured it out.

it wiil be better to found original ex48 or ex49 recovery disk with mss 2.5 or 3.0

No d drive with shares

I have tried and retried more than 10 times but I cannot get the snapshot image to create d drive with shares. My setup is ss4200e with sata drive in compatible mode. WHS console always gives an error saying storage manager is not running. On remote pc, I can see the Hpserver but there is no shares.

I have followed all the steps including formatting the remaining space as NTFS and leaving it unlabeled.

Any help is appreciated.

 

And you ofcourse went through the full process of setting the server from connector on a workstation?

Just leave the space empty (no partition, no filesystem)

When I connect to HPSERVER, i see the website but no files and so no WHS connector to configure the server. I am using ss4200e with pci-e card, on the server, I see the regular WHS desktop.

 

Anyone know if there is a way to "upgrade" or "repair" from WHS to MSS? My WHS just crashed and I'd love to be able to do this rather than format the whole system! I've got like 3.5TB of data on USB HDD's that I'd rather not loose....

 

Then read how you need to do it, certainly NOT this way!
