I just read a lot that peoples laptops were getting bricked if they didn't flash through DOS. I just presented what worked for me. Feel free to use whatever method works best for you. Again thanks to all the posts and people who have spent time to help me out (even indirectly).
No problem for me with Dos, just i never recommand dos flash to beginners. Only a few people are now familiar with the "old" dos commands. big manufacturers like HP provide exe file , with a graphic winflash utility that work's very well with win7 or other windows, i never killed motherboards with flashing original HP bioses under windows xp vista. you can also kill your laptop with flashing a bad bios (modded or untested) or if you simply use bad dos commands or bad flash parameters. i know that dos is always needed to mod some protected or special bioses.
I just want to bump this thread because this procedure was able to flash my HP Pavilion dv6624ca laptop. It used the same BIOS as the dv6663, which can be confirmed by looking if the BIOS updates on the HP page for both products link to the same BIOS update file. It was the first guide I saw here, and it's been extremely successful. Thanks!
used the same principle for my HP desktop. OT do me a favour guys just run Everest for me see if it shows two slics
