I recently got this new Hp ProBook 4540s and installed Win 8 on it with all drivers and stuff. The problem I had with the dedicated ATI RadeonHD 7650M is keep bugging me. I got the drivers for this GPU from the AMD site and I can't seem to know when I switch the graphics which video card I'm using. Yesterday for example the laptop kept telling me that the "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" over and over again. I don't know why this kept appearing, from what I've heard is that the Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers and the AMD Radeon HD 7650M are in conflict. I will mention again that I downloaded both drivers from the official HP and AMD sites. And in AMD Catalyst Center I can only see the Inter HD card and not the Radeon one. If anyone can help me, please... My current specs are: Windows 8 64-bits, 6.2 build 9200 Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @2.5GHz (4CPUs) Memory 6144MB RAM And the error I got from the video card which said "Your PC ran into a problem, File that will be sent to Microsoft: C:\Windows\Minidump\100813-16265-01.dmp C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-56703-0.sysdata.xml C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
I've recently removed the Intel drivers and installed only the AMD ones, seems that I don't get the error no more. I'll try the solution Tito posted and thanks again will return with a feedback.
