Hello Mazzif and thanks for this great work you are doing.
Wanted to ask if there ever will be any unlocking solution for de xx70 series? I have a 2570 HP Elitebook that is bios locked.

Is there something special with the xx70 series that makes it harder to unlock or what exacly is the reason it wont unlock :) ? just curious.

Sory for my bad english, im from Sweden.

PS. If you dont have such a computer and need someone that can try/experiment your software for xx70 elitebooks than you can write to me and i can test your stuf on my computer.

    Thanks in advance.

Any chance the ProBook 6570b is on your list of models? I bought a used unit off of eBay and would like to remove the BIOS Admin lock.

    Thanks...

just tried it on my 8470p with bios password and noticed that SN is not read correctly (read CNU0000000... but is actually CNU3049....)
Put the correct SN, tried 8460p but I get Notebook not supported 179b error

hope you could add 8470p some time in the future

UPDATE: just tried it on 8570p as well and SN is also not read correctly (only first 3 characters are read, others show 0000000)

UUID on both 8470p and 8570p are read correctly

    Call me a lucky one.

My ProBook 6570b was still under warranty. A quick call to HP tech support, and they emailed me the required SMC.bin file to clear the BIOS password. All I had to do was copy the BIN file to a bootable USB flash drive. I powered on the laptop while holding the "WINDOWS" "UP ARROW" and "DOWN ARROW" keys. Less than 30 seconds later I was in the BIOS, and the password was removed.

FYI: A lot of EliteBooks and ProBooks were sold with 3year warranties, so for those who can't get Mazzif's AWESOME utility to work, see if HP can lend a hand.

Regardless, a round of applause for Mazzif and all his efforts.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback.

Yes, unfortunately I don't have any 70 series models to work with. Historically it seems they are using a different method for TPM reset via the 'SMC.BIN' file method as apposed to a DOS based exe. I have some BINs from people, but perhaps they are encrypted or compressed in a manner that I cant discern any logical data in them (UUID, Serial Number) etc. Its on my radar, but not much I can do without hardware. :(

I have performed these steps even with a locked boot order. If its not working with the files I have supplied, you may need to go to HP support and get a bin and sig file for your model from the bios update package.

Hello Mazzif! though i know that your utility works fine with hp elite book 6930p but the problem i am facing is that when i turn the laptop power on it shows the hp logo on start up and right after that it gives a beep and ask for password with out pressing any button. the laptop does not allow me to boot from usb or from hdd sata port, infact before doing any thing it asks for password right after the it power on. i think it is power on password?. kindly tell us how can i manage to boot my laptop from sata port or usb so that i could run your utility. is there any shortcut key or procedure to bypass or force booting from sata or usb? thanks in advance

The only option with 'power on password' protection that I am aware of is a new bios chip. My tools are not effective in this situation because there is no chance for them to load.
The only way I know to force boot, is forcing a BIOS update via USB. This however does not clear password settings.
I am sorry for the bad news.

    Hi Mazzif,

Im trying to reset my bios password for days now. I have a Probook 6550b, so i guess it really should work.

I tried all of your tools, DOS and win based one's. Im just not able to get it to work, the regular DOS version says after injecting code, bad or wrong command. The shotgun method gives me "This tool is only allowed to run by *. **** **** Notebook is not supported (146d)"

The notebook is bios password protected, and has usb and cd-rom boot disabled. Also i tried all method's found for emergency bios update, from HDD and your usb flash drive method.

Any idea how to sort this please?:(

Then how are you running my tools? The DOS tools and the keys created from the Windows based utility CANNOT be run from within Windows. If you cannot boot to USB to get to a DOS environment, you must image my tool set to a separate SATA drive, and replace your current.

I created a bootable DOS HDD, and run the tools from that dos. I will try to run the windows tools from inside a bootable RAM windows environment.

install your original hdd and boot to windows. In windows, attach the DOS HDD via usb. Run the HP Probook Unlock exe right from the USB drive. It should then auto detech your model and SN and UUID. Click 'Make All'. When done, power down. Remove Original HDD, and install DOS HDD. Boot, and when DOS HDD loads to prompt, type 'ALL' and press enter. This will run all the keys just made. Best chance for success

    Hi Mazzif,

I once again tested it on a model that wasn't listed, the 2540p works like a charm with the 8440p one, shotgun did the trick.
I'm hoping that you are able to figure out the new HP laptop's like the 8570p/w and so on :)
