I forgot to mention in my first post: I've already done this and in both cases (all or dos) i receive the message "Bad command or filename"

    Worked with EliteBook 8560w !

    Hello Mazzif

Many thanks for your tool !! I made it work with my EliteBook 8560w, even if not listed in your list. I tried first with the ProBook 8560w option with no luck. Then I try the "shotgun" et voila !

Only one thing, after that, all serial numbers, part number, asset, etc where blank !
Hopefully, I had on the USB drive that file named \OUTPUT\OTMCON.TXT with all the numbers stored. I "just" had to identify what was each number :rolleyes:
I did a reprog with that info and it works now like a charm !

So, for people needing it, here is the order of the numbers found in that file :
Model name (in my case "HP EliteBook 8560w")
    System board #
    Serial # / asset tag
    UUID
    Product #

The two last lines are still not identified ?

    Thanks !

I'll be happy to thank you with a donation if you have a Paypal account...

    Charly

I tried bios update, but on 2710p doesn't work win+b key, nothing happened. HP says somewhere, not all type use this function. One of bios updates for this (F15) can make bootable usb with bios upgrade util, but the first question is.....what do you think? Yes! please write bios pw..... i'm going to smash with big hammer this sh*t...

    any trick?....:(

never did go ahead with it
made a working disk on another unit and moved it over
if your system will not boot from a USB or external drive it's for parts only

Elitebook 8740w Password protect: no usb

The Tool is great. My Elitebook 8740w has been BIOS password protected. With this tool i could remove the protection (select 8730w, press Import, press make all....) But now i have a problem. Ican't boot from USB, because it is not listed in the boot menue. But in the BIOS, under Boot options, i activate usb. What do i wrong? I hope, you can help me. I am at the end of my kowhow.

HP Elitebook 2570p- with BIOS password

I got my HP Elitebook 2570p with BIOS password. HP sent me the SMC.bin file which has unlocked BIOS once which allowed me to activate USB boot. I pressed reset security BIOS settings, saved but then it got locked again. SMC.bin is not working anymore. HP support sent me yesterday another file SMC.bin which is not working either!
I managed to update Bios version with the method described earlier in this forum and successfully did it to the version F.50, however password still sits there. Tried the tool of Mazzif (shotgun) but no success either. Any thoughts?

    problem solved

I reset my BIOS an now i can boot with usb. I update my bios up to F.50. As i remove my Protection, i must change my UUID by the little program, because i have an 8740w and not an 8730w. But it is okay. The Notebook works correctly.
