HP Elitebook 2570p- with BIOS password

The Elitebook 2570p is not listed under supported models. But you have a chance. I haved the same problem with my HP 8740w. It is not supported by the tool. I tried it with list entry 8730w. By press Import, my UUID was change by the tool. I run shotgun and now the Bios is not longer protected. Now I could update the bios to F.50.

Which model should I choose to have it imported, HP 2506p? Will it still work afterwards?

    Thanks for your suggestions, guys!
Mazzif said that **70 models are really tough to unlock, I suppose if import would have been successful, it would be already made public. I would wait for a more confident method...

On HP 2570p- Continuation of the story.... After spending 45 minutes with HP support they recommended me to open the back cover, remove the fan and move up the keyboard, then remove the CMOS battery for a while and press on/off button. This sounds doubtful for me, I'd prefer software solution. I was trying your "import" solution but no luck so far. The only thing I managed so far is changing the UUID, not sure if this would help though.

The **70 Series are not supported with my tools. additionally clearing the RTC/CMOS Battery has no affect on stored passwords with these models. Physical Chip Replacement/reprogramming or a call to HP is last options. And Ill tell ya from personal experience, HP has been pretty easy to work with, and has been able to resolve all my **70 series password issues.

Thanks Mazzif for your info. Actually HP has been quite helpful, they sent me 3 different SMC.bin files but in vain and spent about 1h in total on the call.
They apologised and suggested motherboard replacement.
Did you have any luck with your experimental tool that you put in a separate thread? I volunteer to test this and would definitely reward you if it works!

    Hello all,
Unfortunately it is not working for my HP EliteBook 840... I tried the ShotGun method but without success! Each time I have to change internal HDD (because boot is locked by the BIOS)... It's a nightmare for me. Does anyone have an idea? PC is working well (windows 7) but I lost BIOS password. I tried all my usual passwords without success... For sure I can still use the PC, but no access to the BIOS means no major change, no update, no boot sequence change so no new system installation... or simply it is not possible for me to use a "live CD" (from USB) :( Any idea is welcome!

    1) Need reset bios admin password for my Probook 6570b. Notebook works (loads windows) and boots from all devices.
The only problem is that I can't change any bios settings.

    2) Or at least are there any possibilities to change some bios settings despite unknown bios administrator password?

    Hi friend,
    which model You got ?
There are two PWD type User or Supervisor, first stored into Eeprom, second into
    Chipset !
We can reset first one rewriting a Virgin Bios Region !
    Regards
