ProBook 6555b Successful Mazzif, I was successfully able to reset the BIOS on a ProBook 6555b. I used the 6455b option. I had to manually reprogram, but no errors so far. Thanks again, bogO
I have choosen for all. I have the laptop not near me so I can not make a screenshot. Thanks and greetings, Erik.
Hi Any idea how to remove the admin pwd for a Probook 4330S? any help would be much appreciated cheers Frank
Another 2530p question I acquired a 2530p running XP, but it's locked with an unknown admin. password. Therefore, while I can get on the Net, I can't install or update software. And without the pw, I can't access the BIOS, change nearly any setting, or change the boot order from HDD. Since 1.8" drives aren't as cheap as I'd hope and I'm unwilling use the machine as is, I feel I have nothing to lose. So why not remove the existing HDD, use an adapter to reformat and load your software, and then attempt the "fix?" If successful, I'll jump up and down, extend lots of praise, and then load Win7. What's your opinion and thanks in advance!
Hi Mazzif! Sorry for bothering you but obviously u r the man to ask! I tried to find the answer for my problem on my own but failed - there are so many pages and posts - got really confussed! Basically I wanted to ask - is there any chance to reset Bios Password on ProBook 4520s? As I don't wanna waste your time short answer like yes or no still woulf be better than nothing! Thanks a lot!
Hi Mazzif, you are the ONE. Used your tool on an Elitebook 8760W that had an unknown admin BIOS password and worked first time. Reprogrammed the BIOS with the tool and all is good. Thanks very much.
I apologize if this is a totally stupid question, but is an Administrator Password and BIOS Password the same thing? Both terms seem to be used interchangeably. In my case, there's an unknown Admin. password in the 2530p that prevents accessing the BIOS, hence changing the boot order. I'm also unable to install or uninstall software, update drivers, etc. Thanks again for any help!
Hi Mazzif, is there any hope for hp probook 6470b? i see since Oct 2013 at the first page people were asking you how to clear the password of 6470b. Behalf of all the probook 6470b owners i ask you to help us
Mazzif I have a HP Probook 4330s that is bios locked and can not change the boot order from the hard disk, i have tried to download your app so i can try it but all the links do not work, can you help me please
Mazzif: Just wanted to thank you first of all so much for your bios unlock tools. You have saved me alot of money! Question I have is I have about 3 of them that I used the tool on, but didnt reprogram, and Now I can not get them to boot to the usb or hard drive anymore. I push f9 to go to boot order, select the usb drive and then it just freezes or reboots and goes back to the error bios 505 error. .Which I think is corruption.. I have tried to follow your steps to flash the bios, but when I push the windows B, the usb will flash, but it doesn't do anything and the Caps Lock A flashes and thats it. Any suggestions on these? Thanks again, Brandon
You need to put his files on the hard drive first, instead of the USB stick. You will then boot the program from the hard drive to unlock it.
are you sure it works for a 4330s? because I didn't have the problem with boot order so I can run Mazzif's program from USB but it doesn't work I think it is missing the files for the particular model...But I haven't received an official answer from Mazzif so I am not sure if something I am doing wrong or it is that It hasn't been tested on a Probook 4330s cheers Frank
GUYS lets get something clear here A USER password is for logging into Windows NOT bios etc A BIOS/ADMIN password is for logging into BIOS etc. Whilst some ppl do have issues trying to do this to their laptops just remember you CAN access your laptop with most bios features if you Install HP Protect Tools with the correct Bios utility. Take out the hard drive and format it then repalce it back into elitebook/probook. Make sure you have windows either on DVD or USB (usb is faster) insert the usb or dvd when youve managed to use a 3rd party device to format and wipe your hard drive then the laptop will look for bootable device like dvd/usb. This works but not sure it will work for everyone. When youve managed to do this and windows is installed you can install HP protect tools with the additional bios utility and create a "user" category and set certain bios options including boot order etc. *****This has worked for me on every HP laptop ive tried and worked BUT i do NOT take any responsibility if someone fooks up*****
Styfin: Thanks for the additional explanation. In my case (2530p), I have the password for logging into Windows (XP), but lack the Admin pw. I can even view the bios, but the HDD and network (old corporate remnant) are the only bootable devices not grayed out. Other options, such as installing new software, removing existing programs, updating drivers, etc. are all blocked. Therefore, I wouldn't expect a blank drive to force booting from DVD or USB. (Just to check, I tried removing the drive; and as expected, booting didn't fall through to the next device.) I don't mind reformatting the drive, but with things locked as they are, will Mazzif's fix get rid of the admin stuff so I can load Win 7 and restore "normal" operation? And as asked a few posts up, where do you download it, anyway? Thanks!
Yes I realise that but all the links to download his program don't work so I can't try it if someone had a working link that would be great
