Confirmed HP Compaq 6530b! After update BIOS to ROM_ 68CCU v0F.13 08/22/2011 is usable choice 15 (Probook 6730b) Yaeh!
Also, Id like to say, if your BIOS is v F50 or newer, these tools and methods will likely not work as HP patched them and no longer allows a BIOS Recovery. They also will not allow a BIOS roll back. BIOS revs from 2013 seem to offer best compatibility.
Hi Mazzif! I own a HP ProBook 6550b and came across your tool, because it also solves the "Product Information not valid " problem with option "3". I think that my problem is, that I use the newest Bios F60 and so your tool doesn't work. Is there any possibility to downgrade the bios? I already tried this method: I downloaded an older Version - F.20 I unpacked the ROM.CAB ver.txt reads _ROM_ 68CDE v0F.20 09/02/2011 ROLL_BACK_WARNING PATCH_RANGE_FOR_EFI_UPDATE 0x188000 0x100 0xFF I created the nested directory "Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current" at the root of a non-bootable FAT32 USB Drive named "HP_TOOLS" I extract rom.bin and efbios.sig and place at 'Current' on USB I rename rom.bin to 68CDE.Bin and efbios.sig to 68CDE.sig (From ver.txt) I power on laptop holding Win+B or Win+UP+DOWN+LEFT+RIGHT The screen stays black and the fan runs like cracy but nothing is happening Edit: I also tried a different approach: I installed the "HP UEFI Support Environment" and tried to downgrade the BIOS there. I extracted the cab-file of an old bios and tried a BIOS rollback, but I always get the message, that there is a problem with the signature file, although i also extracted it out of the cab-file. Regards
Hi folks, just reset the BIOS on a Probook 6560B using the DOS method. Although this particular model was not listed as a supported device, it worked without any hickups. The installed BIOS was older (pre 2013) so maybe that helped, too. The boot order was locked, so I flashed the recovery image onto an internal HDD and took out the original drive for the reset procedure. Thanks a million for this wonderful program!
Hello, I have one HP Elitebook 850 G3 with bios pass. I tried to restore bios with windows key+B key and then power button but the screen remain off while keyboard lights on together with maximum fan speed. Can I reset BIOS pass with this tool by selecting random model ? I have bios version N75 Ver. 01.10 while the last available for download on HP is 1.13. The Laptop is working just fine but I want to upgrade bios to latest version and made some bios adjustments. Thank You.
Last time this tool worked very well. Now i have bunch of ProBook 6360b-s. All laptops have Boot from USB locked, so i made HDD with this tool and it did not work(worked 2[old BIOS] PCs out of 10). DOS>5> and some text scrolled fast and reboot, i paused "ALL CLEAR Failed to load defaults error code 89". Looks like it dont work with newer BIOSes. This tool worked with F08 and F22, didnt work with F61 and F63. So if this tool not work look your BIOS version. Probably these BIOSes are not downgradeable? But still thanks
I've reset my 2760p thanks to your tool and awesome instructions. You are awesome and a savior thanks!!!! Do programmers have any idea how awesome their abilities are?

Hello, I was wondering if my HP Probook 450 G2 would work with this method? Thanks in advance. Edit/Update: Figured you might need more information so here it is. I have a 2540p that has the BIOS password lock and the "machine not in committed state", do I have a dud laptop?
I need help to reset my BIOS admin password. HP 8570W SKU: C4A39US # ABA SN: 5CB30915L2 UUID: 088696328882E211922B1266B90000CA Thanks.
I picked up a Probook 6460b at a thrift store and of course it had a locked BIOS, or I wouldn't be here. USB booting is locked out, BUT CD booting is enabled. Is there any way to run this utility from CD/DVD? Anyway I installed the utility to a SATA hard drive in an enclosure, moved the HD to the laptop and attempted to run the utility. I ran HPBR, and saved the system information. It successfully detected my serial number and saved it. Then I tried the first run. Even though I specified the 6460b, the utility reported that it was running for the 8460p. At the end of the first run, it reported 'Bad command or file name'. Then when I tried to reboot and do the 'Second Run' it reported that: This utility will not program for this SN: CNU21XXHHR Not sure what to do at this point...? EDIT: Never mind, shotgun mode worked! Thanks so much...
