Option 3 to reprogram should do it. 8470p is not supported at this time. These tools are for HP Elitebook/Probooks. Envy line is not supported here

Try again. I took an HP Probook 4310s and Downloaded sp49221.exe from HP. I again extracted ROM.CAB. I open ROM.CAB and extracted ver.txt, rom.bin and efibios.sig. I renamed rom and efibios files to the string in ver.txt "68PHT" and placed in "Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current\" on my USB Drive. Battery Out, Power off...boot with Win+B View attachment 26414 BIOS Recovery (500) Success Old: View attachment 26411 New: View attachment 26412 Boot to DOS USB. I should consider this..maybe today? Ariol, I regret to inform you, I have no solution at this time for the 6470. Any **70 actually. I don't physically have one, and to date, no test has been successful. 4520 (any **20 series model actually) is not listed in the supported models. Shotgun is more for testing/luck (or being lazy to skip the menus) Protect tools is ok, if you haven't set up anything yet, but I challenge you to set a system bios password and then use your protect tools to 'reset' it. Protect tools has been covered quite a bit on MDL already, and over at Spiceworks, and over at HPs own support forums. Not much luck coming out of there either. My system is the best chance so for for users with supported models to recover their hardware.
