I have a probook 4520s which i can't unlock the BIOS setup password. Ran the HPBR pendrive, with shotgun.. nothing. booted from windows, ran the hp tool (the dropdown autowrote 4520s) selected "ALL" option, there's no "4520s" executable on the folder. Rebooted and ran "ALL", but nothing, all the files generated don't apply. also, the option "[MAKE KEY]" does not generate anything ¿any ideas? edit: i managed to solve this by reflashing the bios externally and removing the password from the BIOS dump

Works well on HP 2230s, Created the Usb, Booted to USB, didnt run anything, then rebooted to windows, ran the hp tool unlocker, imported, made key and all key, rebooted, selected all and bingo, I am unlocked. Thanks
Hello, I am the owner of an elitebook 820 G1. Unfortunately the bios is locked and makes my life hard when it comes to re-install the system when necessary. I have tried several solutions I have seen but cannot make this password go away. I have seen some post where people are backing up their bios I guess with the tool HPBR and hand it over someone else so it got something modified and re-flashed. My question is, should this tool HPBR be used in this way or should I just try to re-flash the bios with the one found from HP. I just want to take the right decision. Thank you, Armand

Hello, I bought an HP EliteBook 840 G3, I don't have the password of the bios, the boot on Usb is impossible, I don't have the option of available in the boot section of the bios. I have tested the short circuit, removed the battery, etc... since I can't boot on Usb the HPBR software must not work. How can I reset the bios and remove the password?
