I have run your latest program in windows, made the files, then I reboot pc with hdd out so it will boot from usb drive, I have run the three programs and shotgun but it tells me that I am not authorized and only ******** is or something like that. I also tried updating the bios, when I boot and hold Win+B, the screen stays black and the lights flash, at this point the Wifi button turns blue, which is why I am trying to get into bios to enable Wifi. When I input the wrong password it goes to HPSparekey.
I used your latest windows based program to get the files needed, I put them on a USB drive and remove the HDD, I remove the HDD so it will boot off the USB. I run the 3 programs and even shotgun, But it tells me that im not authorized only ******** is or something like that. When I try to update the BIOS the screen stays black and has been for over 1 hour. I am doing all this to get the password off the BIOS so I can enable WIFI, after entering the password incorrect 3 times it brings me to HP Sparekey
I have an 8530w in house, let me look for an 8530p, to test with again. 8530w Tested fine using the DOS tools, and removed password.
I just ran shotgun on an 8530p using DOS tools, first 2 failed, same error (30e7), 3rd was a success. View attachment 26596 View attachment 26597 When I ran the windows tool, and 'make all', i bootsed to DOS, cd to output\all and ran shotgun. I did see the same error on 8530PA (UUID Incorrect, thats an error on me and Ill fix it), but it still unlocked using 8530WA. You should be unlocking without issue, because both our laptops are same type (30e7) View attachment 26598 View attachment 26599 View attachment 26600
Hi mazzif i need the tool to hp probook 6470b the laptop not s.o and not f9 function help me thank you
ok should I load the tools on the HDD through external adapter and try that way? Right now I don't have the HDD in the laptop while running the programs off USB. I will keep trying Thank You for all the help
@Blaze or try making the 8530w key and run that, since that's what unlocked mine or use Dos based program. @446, there is no solution for the 70 series
still no luck with 8530W, I do keep getting BIOS not supported but when I try to update the BIOS The screen stays black while all the lights are light up, and the caps lock flashes. Do I need to do all these steps again with the HDD connected and the Programs loaded onto the HDD?
what is your process for BIOS Recovery? What files are you using? what is the directory structure on your usb dirve?
I followed your directions, have tried all 3 of the offered BIOS updates from HP. View attachment 26601
All looks correct. Formatted FAT32?. I just recovered my 8530p using the same files (68PDV), Caps Lock light will flash, for maybe 2 mins (screen will be black during this time), then caps light goes off, then wifi light will turn amber, then unit will reboot. Maybe your timing (Just hold Win+B till USB begins to flash), Maybe try new USB thumbdrive. Im at a loss, everything looks right, and its working here. View attachment 26604 View attachment 26603
Tried different USB drive it just keeps hanging with lights on and caps flashing, I will give it some more time Thanks So Much for all your help I will let you know what becomes of the issue, for now I will plan on using it with a USB WIFI adapter installed.
Hi Mazzif, any chance to make it work on my laptop (HP EliteBook 8770w) I am getting this error :Notebook is not supported (176c) thanks alot for your help
hi Mazzif, i was able to boot from your image, but could not break the password. I am getting this error: Notebook is not supported (30e4) is there any chance to break the password?
Are you using the DOS tool or the windows based tool? Windows based tool still offers better model support, so if the New DOS based tools are not doing it, try my Windows based solution to create your Keys. YopLee, there is no support for the 8770 at this this time.
