Im curious, if you are reinstalling on the same hardware will the MAK still take a hit on the total number when you activate it?? I never knew that MAK's had a certain number of activations. I worked for one of the University of Californias for the last 7 years and I was the only one in our department that ever ran Vista (I didnt want to roll it out and risk the support nightmare making our 'just gimme a button that does it for me' users freak out heh).. As far as I know the key was shared with the entire university and I never once ran into trouble and I fairly regularly reinstalled my own workstation. I used it from the day of release up until the day the first public beta of Win 7 came out. Maybe we just had a really really large number of activations allowed since it was a school??
If you activate again then of course it will. It would not if you took a backup of avtivation & then restored it You probably had 10K activation key sebus
