Make your own reinstallation media for HP Pcs & Laptops (OEM DVD)

    HOW:

Make bootable usb stick using Win8RTM DVD

Use Windows 8 Product Key Viewer to get HP Win8Pro OEM Product Key, from HP Pcs & Laptops for pid.txt

    Make pid.txt

    [PID]
Value=PUT HP Win8Pro OEM Product Key HERE

Make EI.CFG (Using NOTEPAD or other text editor)

    [EditionID]
    Professional

    [Channel]
    OEM

    [VL]
    0

Add pid.txt & EI.CFG files to sources on usb stick & install Win8Pro.:D

I made an addition to your post. I've been asked where to find an ei.cfg editor :tea:

That's fine if you want to do that but Some people do prefer genuine oem media!!

    @ambidav

I download this HP DVD, it installs & works great, there is nothing wrong with this DVD, BUT i was disappointed when it was Exactly the same as Win8RTM, NO HP logo, HP Wallpapers, HP Software, HP Support, & other maybe disappointed by this as well after downloading 5.08GB. :(

    Thanks ace2.;)

Their recovery media comes with all the bloat and fancy stuff. I've rarely see this reinstall type of media anymore (at least here). Nice to see it still exists lol

Not really any difference at all apart from a little oem info in system properties and the choice of language installed and it being a genuine hp iso :)

I downloaded the HP file but when I tried to burn it to a double layer DVD it gave me a file integrity error. Then I tried to extract the files from the .iso but also got file errors. So now I'm downloading the file again to see if I can get a clean file. If it is also corrupted, then I must assume that the posted file is corrupted.

hey thats a good question. Does this have the HP drives in a folder somewhere in the directory tree or anything? I've made my own iso with drivers, but curious nonetheless lol
