HPQBIOS -> String into bios

    I've a compaq 3417LA it has a HPQBIOS string into OEM_ID & SLIC

    I wonder if exist the oemfiles to install XP for this string

    Compaq 3117La that comes with XP it may be has the same OEM_ID string i think those files may work well

    Can not Install IE

    I found a fix for the problem I was having at not being able to install Microsoft updates or IE7. I downloaded avast the rebooted and did a complete scan. I then went to microsoft download center and downloaded xp service Pack 3
    I now have IE7!Yea. Micosoft worked on my computer remotely 3 nights in a row and could not figure out the problem. I hope this will help someone else as frustrated as I was!:rolleyes: I hope someone can figure out where to post this!
