To remote manage all new Hyper-V options in 2012 R2 (Hyper-V 2012 R2 Core Server):

Do I need to upgrade the Hyper-V manager in a Windows 8 Client to manage a Hyper Core Server 2012 R2? Is an upgrade package available voor Hyper-V Manager on Windows 8 Client?

    or

Do I need to upgrade the Windows 8 Client tot Windows 8.1 Client to manage/get all new Hyper-V R2 options?

    Thx.

The question is not about 8.1 but about 8. In other words: will a RSAT update available voor windows 8 ?

RSAT isn't necessary to get Hyper-V manager, since the Hyper-V role exists in the client starting with Windows 8.

A Windows 8 Hyper-V manager should be able to manage a Server 2012R2 Hyper-V, with possible exception of the latest features.

Installing RSAT won't do anything for Hyper-V manager, it simply is not there since it's already built in the OS.

If you install Windows 8.1 and enable the Hyper-V management feature, you have all you need to manage any 2012R2 Hyper-V server.
If you have Windows 8 and enable the feature, that's where my disclaimer applies.
