I have getting this Windows 10 pro 64 error for a long time now. Error AppModel-Runtime event ID 37 App Container profile failed with error 0x800700B7 because it was unable to register the AppContainer SID. friendly view details tab shows [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-AppModel-Runtime [ Guid] {F1EF270A-0D32-4352-BA52-DBAB41E1D859} EventID 37 Version 0 Level 2 Task 0 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x2000000000000002 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2017-07-04T15:50:00.976439200Z EventRecordID 496 - Correlation [ ActivityID] {BA8BFC87-F4CE-0004-F907-8CBACEF4D201} - Execution [ ProcessID] 9992 [ ThreadID] 6924 Channel Microsoft-Windows-AppModel-Runtime/Admin Computer Bitch - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData ErrorCode 2147942583 I Googled stated error went to a page that showed that it was for Windows servers. At that time I gave feed back concerning the error. After I submitted the feed back within 2 minutes I received a call stating that my windows services has ended and to call a phone number 1-866-978-4470. I called the number given and the person on the other end of the call stated that my windows service has ended. I told him that I'm a Windows Insider and trying to fix above error. He told me that I would have to pay for a new license. I told him that I hade a HWID from a purchased Windows 8.1 Pro install. Question How did this happen and is it true? Do I need to purchase another Windows 10 pro install disk? If this is true. I know how they will make extra money. I have been with Windows since 1.1 on a 5.25" floppy disk and have never had this happen. Any and all input will be most helpful with this situation.
This phone call is a scam! -- Do NOT give them ANY information at all. Do not answer any questions, as even saying the word, "yes" can be used to bill your phone. Point of fact, these Indian scammers will also add your phone number to every possible call list (both valid and illegal), so I would suggest you change your number too.
Hello @ stoppen - I've done several Google searches with mixed results. Do me a favor here: Open the Task Manager, click on the Details tab, then sort the PID (Process ID) column from high to low and find out exactly what Process ID 9992 is. I have Windows 10 and do not see this Process ID listed in my Task Manager. I have a feeling this is either related to Windows Update or to an app you installed from the Windows Store.
