I have mistakenly installed windows 7 twice to the same partiton (the first installation finished but it did not restart/start windows 7 so I installed windows 7 again to the same partition). now when I open the computer, I get a screen with two options to choose from to boot windows: when I click "Enter" on either of them, it boot windows 7 just fine.. how do I fix it? how do I remove this? I dont want to have to click enter everytime I open my computer.. I have only windows 7 ultimate installed.
Back up your data and reformat the partition, do a clean install. how did you end up installing win7 twice ???
dareckibmw I did not have xp installed.. I have windows 7 installed twice to THE SAME partition. alextheg I don't want to reformat because I have installed a lot of programs/games etc.. is there any other solution?
If reformatting is not an option then i would do as armada suggested. msconfig / boot / set as default os, you could also try setting time out to zero. Other than this without reformattibng i think you are stuck with two copies of the same os my friend. WOOPS.
Run bcdedit /enum there you'll see four entries. ( 'cause of the duplicated ones ). Gather the ID of those you want to delete and run bcdedit /delete ID_GOES_HERE
