I need to convert some DVDs to AVI with Windows Movie Maker

    I tried to convert some DVDs to AVI , but evry time I click "file" and import, it would always crash.:mad: Anyone has ever used Windows Movie Maker before? It's really a hard work for me.

    You do realise that commercial dvd's have copy protection you need to use dedicated software.

    Yep, use AnyDVD or DVDFab to deprotect the DVD, and then I use HandBrake (free) to convert to my favorite format. Only converts to MP4 or MKV, though.

    Not true dvdfab as it comes only removes protection copies to dvd disk or folder you also need serial for DVDFab DVD Ripper if you want to convert dvd to other video format. Most of your normal dvd to video e.c.t type softwares do not remove protection you still need 3rd party like dvdfab or aydvd.
