I wish to integrate all the past to the present SLICs in my Award modular Bios v6.00PG Revision F9 of my motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L . From Version 1.0 towards, 2.0, and 2.1. I guess Windows Server 2003 is still very very useful because it still makes it's unique presence all over the world. Well, I already have SLIC mod 2.1. I require 1.0 also. Maybe 2.0 and 2.1 have same quality. Can I have SLIC 1.0 needed to activate Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (in a separate place in Bios, both containing SLIC 2.1 and 1.0)? Please provide relevant information and links to the tools from which I can mod SLIC 1.0 to my SLIC 2.1 modded Bios. Thanks. Tushar
I'm pretty certain that SLICs are backwards compatible with previous versions, so SLIC 2.1 should activate previous OSes.
Re: I do not know much. maybe 2.1 is different in some ways from the past 1.0 SLIC version. is it possible to activate Windows Server 2003 with SLIC 2.1? I need more suggestions about this. Tush.
No, a v2.1 SLIC will NOT allow you to activate XP. It can be made to work with Vista & W7 providing you have the matching certs & PIDs. As far as tools, etc. everything you need is in the Vista forum. Just read through the stickies and you will find everything you need there, tools, bins, certs, etc. The 2.1 specific bins are in the stickies of this forum, where you opened this post !!! At least put a LITTLE effort into looking for what you want before asking someone else to do your work for you !
