Thanks for the constructive comments from the M$ fan club TS, yes an SSD would be much better but it was just recently that SSD prices dropped enough to do that. It was difficult to justify spending $200+ on an ssd for a Vista box where that same drive today is now $89.
Yes, it looks like this SSD thing is finally figured. Seems reliable for most new ones and I just picked one up for a Dell Inspiron 6400, it actually runs great on it! Cost $50 CDN for a 120 Gb SSD. Best upgrade value out there.
Out of courtesy and friendship, I replaced all Windows 8.x and 10 installations with Windows 7 SP1 for all my not-so-tech-savy friends and acquaintances.
Sounds like a good use of Linux Mint. And it is after all a "throw away" world: few problem solvers; many buyers.
Windows 10 default OEM takes about 65s to start and move to a SSD it takes about 24s. more anything to SSD makes it faster. now I do not use FASTSTART or hybernate. so but when tested HDD takes about 4s and ssd is superman fast instant
but... but... 10 come with new brand spyware by a corporation, that "genius" framework that does nothing but slow down the system as an excuse to make it compatible with window$ phone (?? does anyone use that s**t?!) and dx12!!. Which make the games run exactly like dx11 but 12!!.
I think the privacy thing is overexaggerated. Previous Windows operating systems aren't much secured than Windows 10. Indeed, they carry a lot of loopholes when compared to the recent releases of the Windows 10.
This is exactly how it is going to happen. Then they will have to pay for a Windows 10 ISO. Money in the bank baby!
If you really value your privacy, install Ubuntu on your computers. Or, at least, dual boot Ubuntu with Windows, and use Ubuntu for private stuff.
Bat not have those "Problems" anymore. Everybody disconnect Internet and just use Cell Phones. So far Windows 10 hasn't been forced on any Android or iPhone And Apple and Google would never spy on anyone
