It has always been dangerous to take phrases out of context in the bible to suit your own agenda.
You'll be drinking koolaid if you do, Just Ask Jim Jones or David Koresh

@JoeC: Good point, and, IMHO this is the problem with the bible. It's too easy to misinterpret, and too easy to be used as a tool of manipulation by the "crafty".

I do, however, like the parallel that can be drawn from that video.

Not a problem with the Bible... The problem is the person misinterpreting it to point out their fact to suit their own personal agenda. If people were to educate themselves about scripture, then these weasels won't get away with the crap their trying to pull

Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a "Bible thumper", however the one teacher who does an excellent job of interpreting the bible is Pastor Melisa Scott whose website may be found here : http://www.pastormelissascott.com/

She does so because of her intimate knowledge of all the dead languages and her access to the ancient texts in their original languages... Pre King James.

She is also pretty easy on the eyes. ;) LOL

Unfortunately, like with any charity, you do have to deal with the begging for donations but those are relatively few and far between.
Regardless, I would highly recommend watching a few of her videos so you can judge for yourselves.

Applying the same logic, we should ban cars, boats and planes because accidents can happen.

Do you think that Jim Jones's koolaid was an accident?
I do not comprehend that comparison

    ROTFLMAO
    Seriously ?

How about we begin with "An eye for an eye" which to this day is still being taken out of context by practically everyone....
Except, ironically, Buddhist monks, and Gandhi followers. ;)

    Edit to add context :

    Eh? What are you smoking?

    An eye for an eye?

Care to explain where that even comes close to what I was asking.

Which part of your question befuddled you ?
Phrase, "taken out of", context, or all of the aforementioned ?
You DO know how to click on spoilers, do you not ?

Did you examine that particular mosquito or are you assuming that it has eyes because most do ?

Thank you for the thread, it really makes me laugh.

"As the title of this thread says, in other words free will doesn't exist If God is omniscient."

That is rather hilarious, if you really want to think (as opposed to believe) then think about this:

There is no god, but that still does not mean free will is possible.
But then.... anyone who writes a sentence like this: "As the title of this thread says, in other words free will doesn't exist If God is omniscient ", over a thread, has no interest in thinking...

@ThomasMann: This is one of the few threads on MDL where thinking is not a prerequisite. It's about what you feel.

It's also one of those threads that goes unnoticed for weeks at a clip, and some unsuspecting soul posts something.

    Then, it's a free-for-all. :D

It looks like I kicked off this one, just by pressing the "like" button.

    Maybe it was...maybe not.

Perhaps it was the "butterfly effect". :D

Oh, at least this thread was able made someone laugh, its good for the health.

Epistemic and logical determinism are mere philosophical exercises where as causal determinism is natural and true. Read more...

Mr 'thinker', God is omniscient and omnipotent. He has supposed to have created free will for humans then he also has the power to control it. For a human to make a choice without the sanction from his creator, he has to be more powerful than his creator. Since man cannot create his own freedom, he is only using the freedom granted by god.

Seeing as we'll never agree on "Free will doesn't exist If God is omniscient" maybe we can agree on something that is effecting everyone in the world today?

If you like history (I love history) then I suggest you watch a quick history review and maybe what the future holds? There is a LOT happening in the world, especially the Middle East, and often it can appear quite confusing when you have so many "players" as it where, all vying for the same piece of real-estate.

Now that Russia has backed Assad in Syria .... and what's up with Turkey? Throw Iran into the mix and it all seems like something extremely important is playing out in the Middle East. But what? Hopefully the following video might (at the very least) give you what the Bible predicted is going to happen there.

Its defiantly food for thought ...

I use morning coffee with Firefox, which takes me to the "New Posts" page on MDL, and indeed it was there, where I saw this thread for the first time, and it actually mad me laugh.
