Just caught my daughter looking at porn sites. Shes only 9 but I think curiosity got the better of her. She said her and her friends had been talking about it in school. Not that thats makes it ok. Anyway, is there anyway to block stuff like that? Any help with this, will be very much appreciated. Thanks (yet again)

Why the hell is your 9yr old kid viewing those sites ? oO..

Bad parenting or something else, you should have a serious talk with her bout this and punish her in some way, dont just let her use the computer like normal, it may not help at all.
And why did her and her friends talk bout porn in school ?..

You are very wide off the mark with that uncalled for remark. Your advice is as useless as your bad parenting remark. Thanks anyway

BigCol don't get dragged into the "my fault your fault" crap, firefox and IE have browser setting which allow you to take control of the internet, best idea is to make an user account in her name and lock yours as administrator and her as a limited user xp, vista & 7 have this feature, then control/ internet options/ privacy and change settings for her, just make sure you are in control of the user account password at all times. as a personal note cyber kids are much much smart than us so treat this with the utmost possible respect.

Does Net Nanny normally cost money? I thought it was a free addon.

There are several programs out online that promise perfection, there is no perfect solution.
First, Do not allow computers/laptops to be used in your kids rooms.
As far as software goes, look to Netnannydotcom for Net Nanny. A few years ago I tested it and it works great. The only way I could any nude images was drawings. Net Nanny uses a tool that analyzes all picture color and know the color of skin tone. When you first install Net Nanny, It will scan your computer so there is no way for your kids to hide any shots out of your eyes. They have several other tools and either of these two will work for your needs. I tested these two programs for a corporate network and they work.
Another great program very closely rated to net nanny is Safe Eyes do a Google for this. Which is better? They both work great.

OpenDNS is very good at blocking porn sites. Free and easy to configure.

Use KIS 2010 and turn on the parental control and put a password, this will help to block atleast 80% of the porn sites.

Ive been testing net nanny, which I thouht was good but have also tried out K9 web protection. Its free and I have decided that K9 is the program for me. Its easy to use and easy to get to grips with. Anyone who had the same problem as me or is even concerned what sites your kids go on, then try K9. Thannks peeps
