I could not tell you owt about what is supported or not. Sorry.

Have you got the exact model number of this imac ?

Post it up and I'll have a look round. I have never played with an Apple PC\lappy so not actually tried to put Windows on one.

At a guess as long as it has Intel inside it will be more than likely to handle Windows but don't quote me on that. Could be fun trying to find out.

As far as Snow Leopard goes, I do know that was the last OS X to come out on DVD. All the rest are .dmg files downloaded direct from the Apple Store.

Get the model number and we can find out what is on the inside. Or try at least.

My experience of messing with OS X it will ask for a password for loads of things that will alter the system. I think you just have to get used to this. Not sure but at install I think you have to supply a password or it wont continue. Again dont quote me on that.

I'll see if I can find any info with that number.

You can install Win7 on that machine.
Search the ol' interwebs for 'bootcamp'.

    On the OS X front

Snow leopard can be bought for £15 direct from Apple.

And if you are into such things, I just did a quick search on a well known torrent site and saw a "retail Snow Leopard" .iso image.
