I don't totally agree with that because i use slic 2.1 cert and key, and i've seen and installed the update.
I validated online when 1033 was first released - then uninstalled it (I left the registry entry tho') - and it has not come back as a WU (manual) since.... (this rig has a '97 bios modded with lenovo slic + new key).. Happy days! PS: I read somewhere that it is part of MSE definition updates...?
I did a complete fresh install last night too. Installed the system, selected 'notify but dont install', set up my network, went to windows update, no WATu in the list. Installed available updates, rebooted, checked again, still no WATu in the list. Theory: It doesnt show up if the system is in grace period.
But my last clean install it showed up on my first update .. which i was using a loader? EDIT: i had the internet connected during installation of my last setup .. i wonder if this had anything to do with it ? either way.. i'll see what happens after the grace period ..
I did have the 1033 showing up in my updates. Left it unchecked and did other updates. Just checked, and its gone. Looked in my installed updates and it's not there. I used RemoveWAT.
Isn't the Update optionally? I have Win7 x32 Ultimate on a Virtual System, only to test and i activated it via DAZ Loader, and installed the Update ! And it even works like before.. Mabye the Update is only a useles Fake to prevent "pirates" (software of course ) mfg
It is optional or based on voluntary action by user. It definitely not fake and has knocked out more than a few people using activation methods or patches. Sometimes the effect of the WAT update takes a couple hours or days!
I've also never seen it on any of my computers... freshly installed or not... using RemoveWat or not.. It's strange
I've actually read some threads regarding curiosity about WAT update depending on installing with internet off to get updates after install or it not showing up while still in trial period.
