    The public WU upgrade is paused by MSFT, in the insider RP and Slow ring it's resumed to upgrade, it gets an update when upgrading.

    The public updates were released last tuesday on patchtuesday: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-327#post-1471180

    The update, accompanying the insider WU upgrade, has the same fixes as the publicly released SSU and CU.

    The Data Loss problem is only when you Upgrade. In a clean install you start fresh, so there is no User Data to loose.

    What data from the user files will be deleted after a fresh install, there aren't any files in the user files directly after a clean/fresh install.

    Now they're pulling cumulative updates...

    Wow. This is actually quite appalling, I don't even know how to react.

    Edit: Since the only official word is from a support agent right now (who are usually very ill informed), I'm not sure I'd fully believe it just yet.
