In the process of upgrading to 1809 by mounting the iso inside my working 1803 OS, I did not face any problems nor failures. My OS is located in a Samsung pro SSD Nvme and I have a HP Laserjet printer connected with its driver already installed. But under 1809 , the WU automatically did install an update for the HP printer driver.
Thanks for your response. Can I just confirm that it would work on any one of these versions in your post? https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-svf-repository.63324/page-112#post-1432280 So just burn the ISO onto a bootable USB and all good to go? Thank you.
You do not get safe that way. You get safe by simply moving all personal files from inside your profile folder (Documents, Pictures, Downloads, etc.) Try again via MediaCreationTool.bat, as it features some launch parameters to overcome common failed setups can also just open a command prompt where you have your setup files and enter: setup /DynamicUpdate Disable /MigrateDrivers all /ResizeRecoveryPartition disable /ShowOOBE none
well that is not difficult... saving documents and downloads folder and doing the upgrade. then whats the fuss all about ? why don't users just do that and upgrade?
Because nobody knew about it beforehand and only realized after setup finished that tens of gigabytes were lost?
Hi Ahsan, Sorry I was busy, but you get the right answers from BAU and SAM-R. This is an amazing site, I know it from a decade ago.Knowledge always beat fear and suspicion
The Mixer Chat just ended. Brandon said the Team is focused on moving forward, not looking backward. There was no picture, just text.
I've at least always 3 backups of my personal files. So I had no problem to format the partition and could make a clean install without any hickups. The only annoyance is the audio driver from IDT. Worked flawless with 1803, but did not load with 1809. Otherwise everything else looks good. But I insist, I want to make an update from 1803 to 1809.
