Gentlemen ... how do you think ... is it worth installing 17763 or wait? will a new build come out or will it only be the current one?
advise me please ... what system to install ... I bought RTX2080 ... if I install the previous version of the system (April) then I will not be using RTX technology .... RTX only supports the newest 1809 .... I do not know what I have to do in this siting
Despite all this hysteria and emotions around, 1809 works fine, no fear. I would recommend clean installation.
Be advised that 1809 (17763.XX) is still part of the Insider Program in the Slow Ring & Release Preview Ring. It is unknown when it will be released to the General Public.
you won't be able to use RTX technology with 1809 for now either, as nothing released so far supports RTX yet by the time, when games with RTX support get released, 1809 will have had a few updates and will be perfectly usable (hopefully). -andy-
"2 upgrades behind" it's a little bit too much. I think 1 upgrade is good (is this case april update). I had installed the october update (with no issues), but since we don't have a activator for it yet, I went back to the april one.
1809 LTSC is the most beautiful update Windows 10 has ever received - DARK EXPLORER IS A MUST-HAVE!!! It's also the snappiest Windows 10 version to date. However, I would strongly advice to either wait for 6+ months before updating to 1809 or buy NTLite and dedicate 6 or more hours for installing, customizing, tweaking, backing up, testing NTLite (beta or alpha) and how much of 1809 it can rip away before the OS crumbles into useless mess. I currently and proudly have a super-shredded 1809 installed just for playing games, watching films, and browsing the internet. I love it!
