According to the inter web, this is the classic "buffer overrun" hacking attack. The system has been brought down to prevent a malicious user from gaining complete control of it. I suggest you to disconnect all the external devices and perform a disk check to verify the file system integrity and fix potential logical file system errors.
I read all the thread. OK, I will wait for official release this time. Too many small and big issues for too many people for me to manually install...
Never had that status bar problem in dark mode explorer. My only complaint is for the title black being pure black, which is bad with a black background, and forcing it to use the same as the highlight color makes it too bright for my taste. Only alternative solution is to leave highlitght color in auto, even if it forces blue highlights. For some reason, it'll pick dark gray title bars while keeping the blue, unlike manually choosing default blue.
I am not having all the random problems mentioned here regarding Dark mode glitches and hacking attempts. I will list the following issues on clean build 1. "Something Happened we could not install a Feature" notification on every boot. 2. Black Explorer flashes white for a second while maximizing it. 3. The ugly unfinished Open button on the ribbon when you click on any drive (In dark mode) 4. Task Manager cosmetic bugs like incorrect CPU usage and blinking arrows. (Those have been acknowledged by MS) 5. They still got old Vista Era icons on Explorer Ribbon (Eg. System Properties) 6. Explorer will randomly force close and reload. (Cannot replicate but it happens at random) 7. More garbage apps. Photos app now is now a full fledged bloated spyware itself. It's tentacles spreading with each update. (No worries can be uninstalled using powershell) 8. Clean installation experience is still from Windows 7 era. (Just look at macOS. They update the OOBE as well as setup experience with each macOS update) The above bugs even though cosmetic, give us an impression that MS doesn't give a f about us. They listen to feedback but leave things half arsed.
Sorry, could you explain why different sizes may happen? I'm sure that in any case the system is correct. Maybe TEMPORARY files of the unpredictable size influence?
Is Windows Server good enough for daily usage ? It also doesnt have Store/Cortana ? Then why people run after LTSB versions and dont install Server system. Can you or anybody else explain the difference ?
It runs way faster than Pro/Enterprise version. It also doesn't have any edge / cortana / store / metro apps, it is like windows 7 on steroids with all the latest technologies including Direct X 12 and WDDM 2.5. I don't know why people don't use it, for everyday use it is simply awesome. I play games, watch DVB-C / DVB-S2 TV, use it for video editing, photoshop, etc... everything works fine on Windows Server. I haven't found any application that didn't work on server windows.
I cannot use Windows Server OS because AMDung actively block their drivers from installing on a Server OS.
Additionally some AVs and programs might need the Enterprise versions as a limitation on Server Distros.
LTSB/C is kinda over-hyped . Besides the missing Store and apps it shares the same telemetry and update behaviour like normal enterprise edition (including the GPO options to disable most of it if wished). The real advantage is the licensing which spares any feature updates hence no update hijackers all other versions suffer from (especially when EOL is in sight).
