DO install good old "still working" RSAT package from WS2016. The latest package available from 1709 was still DNS buggy...
If I run cmd as admin then go into properties/colors and set transparency to 50% then close and reopen as admin it still at 50% transparency for me even when I run as reg user (non-admin). haven't tried to reboot yet. at what point are you seeing it lose the transparency setting?
By the way, I also can not use a custom solid color at sing-in anymore. I have lockscreen and background image disabled. Now it is just a boring dark blue. ASAP. Run it, change it, close it, open it again and it is back to default.
What do you mean by 'real RTM'? The ESD files for this build are already on Windows Update. Unless they do a complete new build at the last minute, this is what you will through Windows Update. There might be a CU for it, of couse.
i just found "codes" for download 1809 links in microsoft site but looks like is down ..lets hope 2 oct will be on for download

But LTSC also has it all so what's the benefit of using Server if I will not be using any specific feature of a server? We do not have LTSC 2019 yet and we have Server 2019 but soon LTSC is available.
Bravo Microsoft! Finally, after begging for this since the days of Windows Vista, they have done it. You can now install RSAT without having to go find the correct version and install it after *every* build upgrade. It will dynamically install if they were there before, or so the notes say. There was a syntax error and missing parameter in what you posted but I was able to get it to work finally. Powershell: Code: Get-WindowsCapability -Online | ? {$_.Name -like "*RSAT*" -and $_.State -eq "NotPresent"} | Add-WindowsCapability -online Before this would work I had to move the machine in Active Directory to an OU where WSUS wasn't present and reboot, since WSUS doesn't have the 1809 dynamic updates, languages and features on demand yet. Would be nice if add features and add languages had the "get direct from Microsoft" option like WU does.
I'm mostly interested on this update's Dark Theme. Is it properly rendering now? Or should I skip this update for now and wait for a CU after it's initial release?
Probably some settings like Fullscreen Optimizations and Game Bar got reenabled when you installed 1809. Nvidia doesn't have supporting drivers out yet, so there's that. There are 300 pages of "I suffer from stuttering" in Nvidia forums, and the causes are very diverse, but the most common is Standby List cache filling whole RAM which can be solved easily. You should just perform a fully clean install, from 0, erase all previous OS partitions, redo all settings manually and retest. They did a new build at the last moment for 1803 too, and the early adopters of what was "RTM" got stuck without CUs coming and had to manually get the new build. This time I'm waiting until I see it on WU. Then backup the OS partition and perform a clean install. RTM used to mean something, i.e. it was set in stone, now RTM can well mean, oops, we messed up, new full build.
It's RTM time at MDL!! I'm generally an early adopter and this time it was no different. I installed this build yesterday on my primary PC. Most of the changes seem under-the-hood in preparation for the next major build in 2019. The rest are just a few app updates that wouldn't necessarily need a new build unless they use some newly added APIs in this release. Overall, I didn't face any show-stopping issues except for 2 or 3 minor ones, which I'll come to in a sec. I did an in-place upgrade over 1803 and while the initial installing process took well over an hour and a half, the rest of the steps post restart went on fine. No driver incompatibilities as of yet, which is great. Now coming to the issues I noticed — 1. As someone pointed out earlier, there seem to be some issues in recognizing PPPoE connections. Some inbox apps such as Mail and Calculator (for updating the forex rates) don't seem to be able to go online. I could somehow get Edge online by resyncing the time and date but some apps don't simply connect. That said, all Win32 apps work just fine. 2. I did notice the brightness bug as well. 3. The dark mode is hideous. I am a huge fan of Dark Mode and turn it on wherever possible on all my devices and even use the Dark Reader extension for Chromium. But the way File Explorer's dark mode is made looks like a half-assed plastering rather than any attention to detail. It is not even consistent. Control Panel elements are still white and the black-only breadcrumb bar makes it look gaudy. I have to see if there's a way to just theme the UWP apps dark instead of File Explorer as was before. I somehow feel that there could be another minor build increase in the coming days. The theming issues are generally not resolved by just CUs. Anyways, while overall performance is great, visually, it's a mess.
