How sad that nobody uses spoilers anymore...

 

I always do clean install, and I always use LTSC / Windows Server.
I really hate "metro" apps and all the stuff that comes with it, including cortana and edge.

 

Ah. Would you recommend then that I install the normal LTSC version for 1809 (would that include the media features?) or maybe the previous version would be better for now?

 

Clean installation should ve fine, I'm using it from day 1. It looks like there's "need" to have OneDrive active during *upgrade* process to trigger the above mentioned issue.

Hi all, I'm having the same problem with windows photo viewer. Any solution so far?

 

I thought, that this a system wide issue, but I guess it affects only a few people? I have IPv6 fully disabled and everything works, Edge, Store, Weather.

 

It is April all over again. One of two things has to happen. They can try to fix with a Patch or they will have to compile a new Build. If they compile a new Build then things get set back to zero. The new Build will first be released to the Fast Ring then Slow Ring then maybe Release Preview Ring then go thru the Sign Off process. This could take 3 to 4 weeks to do. PC Makers are still upset from April, so now this happens ?
Microsoft this is not good.

 

I think they go for cumulative update, and refresh esd and iso files.

 

I genuinely think they should stick to one release a year. Two releases a year is clearly not working out very well, this is now the second major upgrade in a row that has had show stopping issues.

I have lost my documents folder after upgrading but it was allready almost empty bevause my documents are on a different drive and I make backups so idc realy

 

i think you can find deleted files in windows.old folder.

 

Presumably because a Cumulative Update is applied AFTER the installation is completed, and the bug appears to be in the installer itself. So whatever the problem is, it will have already done the damage on any affected machnes before the patch is installed.

 

And btw it's prob an easy fix so my guess is a CU edited : I guess the post above me is right haha

 

Some people on reddit reported the files were missing from windows.old too

 

They've paused the 1809 rollout, so maybe that's why the feature pack has disappeared.

 

Aigt we now have stuff to talk about instead of the begging for iso's but I realize if they would bring out a new build it will start all over damn
