For some reason my "downloads" folder on 17134.320 got emptied, the upgrade to 17763.1 asks for a reboot for a few days now, but i didn't reboot.
Seriously? Yikes, your downloads folder is probably the size of all my computers and hardrives put together
My free space before was 30GB on C (256GB SSD), now it is 165GB But a few days ago i (iirc) copied the files to another partition, i never move, always copy Being a bit of a scatterbrain lately, i still have to find the copy
That is cute. I keep the most important files there (as a working directory), because Downloads folder is the only one, which can be set up as a startup folder for Windows Explorer.
Just take Download out of StorageSpaces/cleanmgr cleaning. Automatic Maintenance running regularly includes cleaning.
On 17134.xxx, the option to clean the download folder is not present, it's present on 17763.1, the build i never finished during the WU upgrade
I reverted back to 1803. Weird missing settings, taskmgr freezing up, skype freezing up (forced me to upgrade to version 8). Settings stored as ini files seem to be affected most. Very odd behavior all around. Process Explorer was indicating lots of context switching (in the billions, per cpu core). There's all around problems in the RTM, which should have been caught at some point during testing - if the testing builds had these issues, which I'm guessing they did not. This feels like a rushed release from insider to RTM, with little regard for what insiders were reporting. Honestly, Microsoft should focus on solving critical flaws before focusing on user experience. Get the integral parts of the OS functioning properly before applying tons of development time on flashy apps.
Hi bro yes I totally agree and still think that from Windows 8 for some strange reason I do not know if it comes from the administration itself or what M $ FT clearly lost the notion of quality that always had in its operating systems I say this because I am a user since Windows 1.0 so I know what I'm talking about; I still understand that software engineering people do not seem to wear the "shirt" of the company anymore because if they did, they would not let these terrible problems occur that have been taking place, greatly damaging the image of M $ FT, it is not possible for anyone inside it to perceive or comment on something it is simply pitiful just my 2 cents
^^ because you do not move all the default libraries (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Musics, Videos) to another disk or SSD is simple I never lost anything until today
Nah, any program that downloads stuff points to my other partitions. Those folders are added as new folders to the library for fast access .
