    First off lets pass the facts:

    CB means "Current Branch"
    LTSB means "Long term Service Branch"

    So whats the difference?

    Microsoft have now changed the way they're releasing updates, instead of releasing a new major build like Windows Vista, 7, etc. they will release updated and newer features every couple of months in Windows 10.

    LTSB versions of Windows will conform as standard versions of Windows. You will receive security updates and patches but you will NOT receive newer versions and enhancements for Windows 10. This essentially means no major updates will be received if you're using an LTSB version of Windows.

    CB will ensure you receive newer versions and enhancements for Windows 10 including security updates and patches. CB is also the normal version that the higher percentage of users are currently running (99%).

    I hope this short note on support versions will help some.

    P.S I love you.

    Don't forget to mention that enabling Defer Upgrades means that you'll get a more curated experience, as updates will first be deployed to users who do NOT have Defer Upgrades enabled.

    That means that instead of exempting yourself completely from feature upgrades like in LTSB, you'll instead just be getting them a few months later, ensuring that they're stable.

    Defer Upgrade is a great lifesaver feature indeed. Thanks to M$ for at least considering this with auto-update.

    Sorry, I'm just here to explain the difference. No go in depth into settings, etc. The users can decide that for themselves.

    But thanks :D

    If you're upgrading from 7/8, get Pro.

    If you're using KMS, get Enterprise or Enterprise LTSB

    To find out what you currently have, press windows key and type "winver".

    CB= Normal Installation.
    LTSB= Plain Vanilla Installation without Modern apps and Edge.

    You can check yourself.:cool:
