Can I insert a $oem$ folder in sources folder inside Windows 8 Image? The purpose is to inject OEM logos in System Properties, similar to the $oem$ folder in Windows 7 Image.

The structure of the folder is as follow:
    sources\$oem$\$$\
    a. setup\scripts: oem.reg, OOBE.CMD
    b. system32\oem: OemUser.bmp, PerfLogo.bmp, SystemLogo.bmp, MceLogo.png, OobeLogo.png, ThemeLogo.png

So, guys, can I insert the $oem$ folder?

Thank you for the information. :worthy:

Yes you can but the themes will not auto set themselves. You will have to manually select them once the install is finished.

So, $oem$ Folder is pretty much useless in Windows 8 installation? After all, we can no longer use it to execute OEM activation of Windows 8.

No not really because you can integrate hotfixes, updates, and unattend installs with the $oem$ method. But as I previously stated, the themes will install as directed but you need to manually select the OEM theme once the install is complete via Personality Settings.

Windows 8 breaks most of it.

I think the copyprofile is promising in that regard (see article I linked in my previous post) because that way you can set it to perform the same account creation method for each account/user.
