Install & Activate Windows 8.1 using a Windows 8 Key - Will this work??

    I just read on another site that I can install and activate Windows 8.1 using my Windows 8 Retail key if I create the following file:-

    ei.cfg

    which contains the following text:-

    [Channel]
    _Default

    [VL]
    0

    Is this correct??

    Read the Windows 8 main thread, no need for ei.cfg, use the gVLK key to install and your 8 key to activate
