But we do really have retail/VL keys to get past the installation screens for an MSDN version right? Just asking.
But we do have keys to get past the Insert Key screen while starting the installation on the MSDN ISO's. Correct ? Its just that the WZOR keys don't work.
By default right out-of-the-box ? Sorry for my naive questions because I haven't tried installing the MSDN ISO of Win 8.. yet. I'm just trying to figure out what would be the outcome if I don't follow the ei.cfg file mod.
I may be having a daft moment here so please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Windows 8 already a AIO installer? We can install Pro or Core, Retail or VL, based on what key is put in during the install. While this hack allows us to install without having to input a key first, that strikes me as the only change. For otherwise legitimate installations I'm not seeing how this is any more AIO than what Windows 8 already does.
Not all the images are All-in-One: 3 main flavors of DVD's (x86 and x64 versions are on separate DVD's): Windows 8 (x86 or x64) DVD only carries Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Core in the same DVD Windows 8 Enterprise (x86 or x64) DVD only carries Windows 8 Enterprise (needs KMS) Windows 8 VL DVD carries Widows 8 VL (need MAK key) and Windows Enterprise (needs KMS key) - depends on the key used. Windows Server 2012 DVD (in this case, since there is also a separate DVD for each if you have it) carries Windows Server Standard and Dataceneter The AIO option allows you to do your own 'brew' flavor.. mixing x86 versions and x64 versions, etc. on whatever combination you want. If you do a lot of testing this is very useful since you can have only one image to use (specially if you use vmware or other visualization method and you keep this in a server (instead of a physical media) (~4GB image instead of 6 x ~3GB (18GB) images...))
It works with just the following in your ei.cfg ... It doesn't ask for a product key and you can select the version to install.
