Some unlucky guys had this problem, basically it's probably due to graphic card impatible with win8, because the machine and devices are usually too old(or otherwise you don't need to patch), afraid there's nothing you could do about it, AFAIK.
yep, this is known that the CP worked on older versions but off RTM of 8 and beyond, these restrictions came up and some machines didn't work any more
What happens if you remove the hard drive and put it on another computer that supports the nx and its install windows 8.Can a laptop hard drive to put on commuter
"Windows 8 Consumer Preview is prerelease software that may be substantially modified before it’s commercially released."
If he install windows 8 developer preview or release preview in the described way you will go there again or as pressed F8 and will stay only black screen.
I had that issue when I installed it on my old rig. What I've done is wait a couple of minutes (to be sure everything is loaded) and then I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Screen showed up with standard set of options (Task Manager, Lock PC, yada yada) and then I pressed Escape and voila, desktop booted like it should boot. Maybe this will help. My GPU: Sapphire Radeon 9600 128MB DDR (old school beast )
Then it's probably like I said before: a graphic card driver problem, afraid there's nothing more you could do about it.
