Just read thru posts this morning, my own personal opinion, for a general user - there's really not much point to test on CPU's without PAE or SSE2, of course, it's just my thoughts.
ok...your opinion is no more tests, the win 7 is better, please explain more, what is the main problems?....at the moment test it with VirtualBox, but i think i will try on my real desktop.
As the system still assumes the features properly working, it will crash when a program demands them . BTW: Would that system run into BSOD or crash instantly with Black Screen?
No, if you like testing, go ahead, nothing wrong with that. Like slave77 suggested, there could be problems, to bypass PAE and SSe2 you need to put in too many patched system files, personally I won't be comfortable with it, that's all. Edit: btw, I notice that you try to test it on Vbox, but I think(I am not sure) to install win8 on Vbox you need to enable VT(hardware virtualization), and your CPU doesn't support VT.
In v1-5 you can do 3 options (Patch NX, Patch SSE2, Patch NX/SSE2), as I want my powerful SSE2 to be checked properly hehe... BTW: I love this patch...
OK, finally unfortunately my backup PC, AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (my old typewriter ) can't play Windows 8.... (try to patch the files with patch by @jan1 and use patched files by @moderate)
Yes, I also thought so, but I have just finished that and no luck. Still error. Dont know what I am doing wrong, I want to give a try at this. Thank you.
