Is there an Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 that has the NX bit set? I would like to install Windows 8 as well. Thanks

Swapped the files out with the patched ones and I still get the error saying this pc isnt compatible with windows 8.1 So I try to boot from it and I get error code 0x0000000A Is there a link somewhere where I can get a working already patched Windows 8 ISO?
I decided it was not worth the struggle and installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise X86 on my AMD X2 939 pc. Activated fine with KMS_VL_All_604. I only can install 4gb of memory on my old mb anyway.
hmm. this is an interesting little project for my Dual Pentium III 1ghz with 1.12gb ram. I will try this tomorrow
Instructions on clear, inserted fork in to light socket. where do you get the install.wim? it isn't in the sources folder in my 8 or my 8.1 ISOs. also why not link the ntokernel by moderate? i'm so lost and confused right now.
aawwww no stable HT is there even an 32bit 8.1 iso with an install.wim? i suppose for my purposes it's still worth a shot to see if HT is mostly stable. but, i could barley find an 8.1 32bit iso let alone one with an install.wim how do i know whihc one has which? why do i need win 7 on the machine i'm installing win 8.1 to? why do i need a separate parition? will a seperate drive work? does all this have to be doen on the machine i'm installing to and NOT a different computer? i just wanted a pre patched iso that i could use to install patched 8.1.
After last night update, I rePatched ntoskrnl & winload and run the command "bcdedit /store F:\Boot\BCD /set {default} NoIntegrityChecks Yes". Got error 0xc0000428 because windows cannot verify the digital signature of ntoskrnl.exe. I run again this command just in case "BCDEdit /set {default} NoIntegrityChecks Yes" Same digital signature error! The only way is to hit the F8 key during OS selection screen, hit # 7 key "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"..! Any idea how to fix this? TIA
- Tks to @Tito for the links, but if you still couldn't find the ISO, you could run sources\setup of your ISO with install.esd inside win7 (because it will skip the initial CPU check - which happens if you use a media install), wait until it reboots to the bootmenu with win7 as a choice, then go into win7, you would find the win8/8.1 files are extracted in the new partition like using imageX. - Yes, you can install it on a different drive on the same machine. - No, you don't need really need to have a win7, you could install into a machine with a clean disk if you follow @Jan1's guidelines in the OP of his thread, I proposed to use win7 in post#4 because it allows people to work in a GUI mode, it would be easier for people who doesn't wish to use command modes. - I uploaded the patched win8X86 En/US Ent ISO because I happened to test the tool with this edition, there are so many win8/8.1 editions, don't believe someone would go thru the trouble of patching all and upload the ISO's, guess you just have to apply the patching by yourselves for your desired edition. I think you have not set win8/8.1 as default, the syntax of the command is : BCDEdit /set {identifier} NoIntegrityChecks Yes So, if you don't set win8/8.1 as default, then you would need to enter the long identifier hash, you could find(and copy) this hash by entering BCDedit /enum.
Thanx 4 Ur quick reply. I run this command (from within Windows 8.1) with NO success! BCDEdit /set {current} NoIntegrityChecks Yes Anyway this the output of BCDEdit /enum I'm resending this just incase (my reply folder has 0 messages!) TIA
Seems you did it correctly, unfortunately I am unable to test because my P4 has long gone to junkyard, and I didn't have a chance to try with win8.1 myself, but many people had reported success.
