(If the topic isn’t allowed to be discussed, apologies and please just delete it). Hi, As mentioned online on some websites, one can bypass having to provide a Microsoft account or hotmail email on the Microsoft Activation Portal, which now functions as the replacement for the old over the phone activation method. I have successfully logged into the Portal. After providing the Windows Installation ID nothing happens. Not even an error message. What I am supposed to get instead is the Confirmation ID. Particularly on the activate screen, after I press the big blue button with “Submit” written on it, nothing happens at all. If I press the button two more times, the button becomes grayed out with no chance to re-press it further. I checked network activity to see if any bytes are being sent over after I hit the Submit button, but nothing is sent. I am accessing the portal through Tor on Firefox. Can this be the reason why I am unable to receive the Confirmation ID? Or is it connected to the Microsoft Account bypass mentioned online? Funny enough, everything can be navigated just fine until after I hit the Submit button of my Installation ID. I tried providing the Installation ID of a different version of Windows installed on a different system but the result is the same. Last thing that came to mind is how Microsoft, seems to imply the need of a smartphone (unless I understood wrong) to access the Portal. This is something I do not intend to do. If anyone can provide any help in figuring this out, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Very interesting. Thanks for the link. Do you know if this tool in any way harvest information the user inserts? If you pass an Office or Windows key, do these get acquired into some database? Same for Installation IDs: is this information being collected somewhere other than by the MS servers? Just asking if you know. Thank you.
IID/CID is not stored on any 3rd party site. The tool is open source; it just requests the official Microsoft Visual API to get the CID.
I ask because when I scan the zip file on VirusTotal it shows no red flags, but when I unpack it and scan pidgenx64.dll it brings up one red flag with the following description: Trojan.Heur!.00002132. However when I scan pidgenx32.dll, no red flags. If I remove pidgenx64.dll can the application continue to run, perhaps on a x86 version of Windows? On the other hand, I’ve had no success trying to get a CID from the MS Activation Portal. I thought the site might have been down or something, but clearly my configuration (the way I access the Portal) is being prevented from successfully getting a CID. Thank you for taking the time to answer.
