Switched from uTorrent to qBittorrent about a year ago, much better client, uTorrent has had it's day, now full of ads and bloat, and last time I checked it tried installing some PUP during install, OpenCandy or something

I have used 2.2.1 for many years, but is stARted showing strange habits, so I also changed to Tixati. Works fine.

Since you know that one well, one question: When it is working, and I click on the page where is shows the details of the connected peers..... from qtorrent, I am used to seeing one vertical line telling me how many % of that file each peer has. How do I see that at Tixati?

I checked but it doesn't seem to show it, I could not find a way to show percentage.

hummm, there should be a way to change its useragent to one of utorrent.

    Edit:
yep, i confirm this can be changed in SessionSettings.cpp
    replace :
    with
And replace also the PEERID here :
    with
Well, you need to recompile now :D:D But all trackers will see picotorrent as utorrent 2.2.1

in Picotorrent 0.5 they added an advanced tab in the preference which was allowing you to enable/disable the picotorrent peerid, but they removed it later.

So without the advanced tab then picotorrent can't be converted to show torrents as utorrent 2.2.1 right?

Just use µTorrent 2.2.1 portable under Sandboxie and you are fine. 100% safe.

i stopped using ut for the same reasons, now i use tixati.
tried qbittorrent but i don't like it because looks buggy and lacks some features like move completed downloads to another location.
you can setup your download/upload (incoming/outgoing) speed from bandwidth tab or by right click on torrent.
tixatis ui is different from ut but you will get used to it very quick.

Tried them all, Qbit is the best, fast, lightweight and works fine without loads of tinkering.

Even I used to use uTorrent 2.2.1 for years. But that 2.2.1 version is not designed for SSDs. It causes a lot of disk thrashing and there are reports of reduction of wear leveling count of SSDs. The SSD bug was fixed from uTorrent 3.4. But honestly I dont care about uTorrent any more.
I have a qnap NAS and I have installed ruTorrent (rTorrent UI) and it just works flawlessly. The best part is I don't even have to install any torrent client on my PC any more. I get remote access to it from anywhere in the world and NAS consumes far lower power than keeping my PC on 24x7.

So if you have a small low power home server which runs on linux, ruTorrent is the best way forward.
