I know that a lot of people (including myself) are stricken with the problem of Office 15 applications closing a few seconds after they are launched. But I've found a simple solution!! Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform and replace OSPPSVC.exe with some other harmless program (eg notepad.exe). Then, when you launch an app it won't close after a few seconds. Simple!
I think you have to open Task Manager and close something called Microsoft Office verification-blah or something like that... And I've only just realised that the apps close again a minute later because they fail to activate...does anyone know of a working activator??
You can activate it, but if the applications can't connect to the Licensing service, which is "OSPPSVC", they haven't got a activation.
Most of the Win8 builds, 7989 especially, only run on 64-bit systems. Office 15 is a 32-bit program. Try putting Program Files (x86) in command prompt anywhere it says Program Files, as this is where the CVH.exe and the other programs are stored.
Doesn't anyone know how to patch the Office Software Protection Plan files (OSPPSVC.exe and all the other dll's and things) in the Program Files - Common Files - MS Shared folder? That prevents Office from surviving for more than 3 seconds. Replacing OSPPSVC.exe does not work, and removing it altogether has the same effect: When you try to start an Office app, it will open and stay open, but within a few seconds, an error box appears that says the license cannot be verified, and the program will now shut down. Which it does when you click OK.
