I updated my OP in this thread, I added the official Microsoft tool which should be the easiest way to put Windows 7 on your USB stick. Has anybody tried the MS tool and confirmed it works?
Hi, I have made my usb drive bootable with Windows 7. PC recognizes the drive while booting. Removable drive is first in boot order. Then DVD then HD. Should Windows ask to boot from USB, just like with a DVD, because Windows just starts into the old Windows. It recognizes the drive, but dont boot, i dont get it.
Just changed boot sequence in BIOS, for DVD booting its enough, dunno for USB? Might try to open temporary boot device list.
Hey, made an account to post here; I tried using both M$'s and the ultraiso methods and both times i have the same result; its as if I dragged and dropped the files onto the flash drive (8gb xporter patriot xt); and thus no 'autoplay' feature or whatever (as if an iso were burned on a disc). When I tried to boot from this my pc would have none of it (just proceeded as if the usb did not exist); any help appreciated, ty
i have like 8 usb slots (i did try usb-hdd, nothing happened), would it depend on where its slotted? well, gonna try them all w/e i get back from work, thx
ok, tried the first one: windows won't recognise the downloaded file so I downloaded the one you have on here. I'll give that a shot. number two makes no sense cuz it's to boot with linux? or something like that? and three, I tried that with the first file (not the one on this page) and it says I need to be an admin to write the image onto my usb. I am an admin.
