Installing Windows server 2012 on a pc with an incompatible CPU.

    Hello,

    I've been trying to install Windows Server 2012 R2 on a pc with an AMD Athlon 64 3500+.
    I followed all instruction of the forum thread that describes the process (Can't post link, system got mad) and I'm now no longer getting a 0x5D message, however I am now getting this one:

    error code 0x1E

    I hope someone can help me with this.

    your cpu lacks LAHF / SAHF Instructions set that would make 2012 slow and unstable with tweaks
    on a server i wouldn't modify core files, how about server 2008 r2? it's good

    Ahh I see. I was hoping it would work as it would be nice practise for school but I'll try 2008 then.
